The Adobe Embedded PDF Viewer plugin is an amazing and useful tool that enables users to embed high-quality PDF viewing into their posts and pages on WordPress with extremely little effort!
The plugin offers four PDF viewer modes, including Lightbox, Sized Container, In-Line, and Full Window. The Lightbox mode displays PDF files in a modal, while the Sized Container mode displays PDF files in a presentation-style container with landscape orientation. The In-Line mode displays PDF files inline within the content of the page or post itself. The Full Window mode allows your visitors to use annotation tools, navigate pages using PDF thumbnails, and access other features of the Adobe PDF Embed API.
This JavaScript-based plugin uses the Adobe PDF Embed API to display PDFs in the browser. It is also a part of Adobe Acrobat Services, cloud-based REST APIs, SDKs, and integrations that automate digital document workflows for PDF creation, conversion, PDF content extraction, document generation with signatures, and more.
By installing and activating this plugin, you agree to the Adobe General Terms of Use. You can also add security to your published files by disabling printing and downloading of your PDFs in all four PDF viewer modes. Moreover, you can embed PDFs with the Adobe Embedded PDF Viewer block in the Gutenberg editor.
To use the plugin, you need a client ID (API key), which you can get by visiting the Adobe Acrobat Services website, completing the required fields, and selecting Create Credentials. Once you have your client ID, you can paste it into the Client ID (API Key) field in your WordPress admin dashboard under Adobe Embedded PDF Viewer > General Settings.
The plugin also allows you to integrate it with your Adobe Analytics account, which requires separate licensing. To do this, you can navigate to Adobe Embedded PDF Viewer > General Settings, enter your Report Suite ID in the field, and follow the steps outlined in the guide on configuring Adobe Analytics to correctly map the data from Embedded PDF Viewer to your Analytics report suite.
To embed a PDF in the Gutenberg editor, you can use the Embedded PDF Viewer block and configure the viewer settings for your PDF in the Block settings tab in the right sidebar of the editor. The Sized Container is the default embed mode for the Embedded PDF Viewer block, and the site-wide embed mode settings do not apply.
